Introduction
This course is intended to introduce the integrated practice of Shaolin Qi Gong (sometimes referred to as ‘Chinese yoga’) and Chan (Zen) meditation as practiced at Song Shan Shaolin Temple, China. Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Chan (Zen), Chan means meditation. Chan is the Buddhist school of meditation.
For centuries, Qi Gong exercise has supported and enhanced the practice of meditation techniques, and been used to improve meditation practice.
It is intended for the course to provide an essential first step to the practice of meditation. For this reason the practice is presented in a step by step manner as passed on through the generations at the Shaolin Temple. This ensures clarity, gives a context for meditation. Practical instruction will be given in development of the fundamental building blocks. Also this approach provides crucial grounding or ‘rooting’ for would be meditators.
The course is designed to leave students with practical knowledge which can bring many benefits to daily life and can also be the foundation for further development.

Canolfan Tresaith is located in the middle of the picturesque coastal village of Tresaith. It lies only 200 yards from the beach along a footpath that goes through the middle of the village.
The Centre has one male dormitory room and one female dormitory room, each containing bunk beds and separate showering facilities. Parking is available nearby.
The meditation package includes your meals from tea time on Saturday through to breakfast on Monday, please note that all meals will be vegetarian.
